UPCOMING ELECTIONS FOR 2024
November General - November 5, 2024
How Can I Get a Ballot?
Now through November 1st you can complete an application requesting an Absentee Ballot be mailed to you. You may vote that ballot at home and return it via U.S. Mail, place it in the Drop Box here at the Township Hall, or bring it to the Early Voting Site and place it in the tabulator.
November 2nd – 5th You may request and receive an Absentee Ballot in person at the Clerk’s Office.
Sat. October 26th – Sunday November 3rd Come into the Township Offices at 3800 Lapeer Rd. and vote a ballot just as you would on Tuesday, November 5th. We are staffed each day 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. and you will most likely avoid any election day lines. Early Vote Tabulation does not take place until 8:00 p.m. on November 5, 2024 here at the Port Huron Township Offices, 3800 Lapeer Rd.

We will update our site with the names of valid write-in candidates once we get verification from the St. Clair County Clerk’s Office. To ensure your vote counts for a valid write-in candidate, simply write the candidate’s name on one of the blank lines, under the office they are seeking, and fill-in the oval.
Election Changes for 2024
With the passage of Proposal 2 in 2022 the following changes are now in effect:
Permanent Ballot – This is an option for those who like to vote by absentee ballot. Rather than first getting an application in the mail for every election you only need to sign up once and from that point on you will automatically be mailed a ballot for every election. However please note, that if you use this option and you temporarily leave your registered address you must inform our office when needing to use another mailing address. The State is working on a way to keep “snowbird” addresses and effective dates in their system, but it won’t happen for 2024.
Early Voting
This is now a required option for all State and Federal elections. Registered voters may vote during our Early Voting days and hours here at the Township Offices, 3800 Lapeer Rd., Port Huron 8:30 – 4:30.
DROP BOX
For your convenience there is an official drop box at the front sidewalk of our entrance here at the Township Offices, 3800 Lapeer Rd. This is a locked secure box where we accept a variety of payments as well as your absentee ballots and applications. This box is checked at a minimum twice per day.
We also provide an indoor drop-off ballot box which is also checked throughout the day.
* Please note that these drop boxes are provided for you to DROP OFF ONLY PORT HURON TOWNSHIP BALLOTS & BILLS. These are not community wide drop boxes and ballots left on Election Day for a different community can cause significant issues for our staff to get them to the right location.
